Muscle Pain

Do you suffer from aches and pains that come and go but never seem to go away?

Our daily lives are becoming busier, more stressful and more repetitive. Workplaces and computers are so efficient now that we can do what we need without having to leave the desk. Commute times have increased with more traffic and smartphone usage seems to increase every year.

As a result, we often place our bodies in the same position for too long resulting in overload of soft tissue and resultant pain.

Common areas for muscular pain include:

  • Lower back

  • Neck

  • Shoulder blade region

  • Hip/gluteal (buttocks) muscles

  • Forearms

A common cause of muscular pain are myofascial ‘trigger points”. These are hyperirritable bands within a muscle due to a build up of chemicals. They are often what people describe as “knots”. Trigger points can cause local pain or radiating pain to nearby areas or headaches.
